What Scotland's 'No' vote means for David Cameron

David Cameron has had the narrowest of political escapes. Success for the "Better Together" campaign has saved him from catastrophe: he will not, after all, live on in history as the Prime Minister on whose watch the Scottish nation chose to leave the United Kingdom. But serious questions will now be asked in his party and in the country about his future.
CNN said Cameron will also face an almighty battle in Parliament to deliver the consolation prize of greatly enhanced powers for the Scottish Parliament, the so-called "Devo Max" package, which he was forced to concede in the panicky latter stages of the No campaign.
On Friday morning, the tired but relieved-looking Premier told reporters at 10 Downing Street that it would have broken his heart to see Scotland leave the UK.
"The people of Scotland have spoken," Cameron said. "They have kept our country of four nations together, and like millions of other people, I am delighted."

2015 Elections: Fans Mock Desmond Elliot Over Yoruba Name

Shortly after he declared his intention to seek for a seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly and coming out with his campaign posters, Nollywood top actor, director and producer, Desmond 'Olushola' Elliot, has been put under fire by his fans, who are surprised at the realisation that he has actually has a Yoruba name, one he has never used until now.
Some of his fans believe he decides to identify with the Yoruba name because of what he wants to achieve and are not happy with him.
They believe that he is only putting out that name so that people will see him as a Yoruba man, something he guarded jealously before now.
The sudden adoption of the name Olushola has drawn a lot of talking points, even from his colleagues, especially the Yoruba speaking ones who say Desmond never identified with them and never accepted that he was a Yoruba man, only accepting the fact because he wants to go into politics.
Some took to social media to express their dismay at the sudden cropping up of the name Olushola.

RESERACH: RELIGIOUS AND NON RELIGIOUS ARE ALL THE SAME

ADAM EVE
So much for religious people being more righteous than non-believers.

Sure-to-be-controversial new research shows that religious and non-religious people are equally likely to misbehave. The only difference between the groups is that religious people show stronger emotional reactions to moral and immoral deeds.
“To our knowledge, it’s the first study that directly assesses how morality plays out in people’s everyday lived experience,” Dr. Linda Skitka, a psychologist at the University of Illinois at Chicago and the co-author of a paper describing the research, said in a written statement.

14 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE YOU CHEAT IN A RELATIONSHIP

#1: You will become a liar.
Cheating cannot occur without deceit on some level and normally the white lies in the beginning become full-fledged lies at the end. “I’m working late at the office tonight” may be a half-truth but you’ll need to redefine the word “working” to silence your compromised conscience. Cheating and lying go hand in hand.
#2: You will get caught. It may not be today. It may not be tomorrow. But eventually, your affair will come to light. Your world will come crashing down on you. If you are fortunate, the story of your indiscretion may avoid the evening news or the front page of your local paper, but your circle of friends will know your deeds. And everyone likes to share juicy news. Your poor decision will become as public as a billboard. It’s not a matter of if but when. As Pastor Rick Warren tweeted recently, “If the Director of the CIA can’t hide and cover up an affair, no one can.” As the Chinese proverb goes, “If you don’t want anyone to know it, don’t do it.”
#3: You will disappoint everyone. Everyone. Your spouse. Your friends. Your co-workers. Your God. Your parents. Your nephew. Your children. Yourself. The disappointment you cause will be like the stench of skunks and it will take a long time to remove the smell.
#4: You will be a bad example. Everyone is either a good example or a bad example in all things that we do.
Cheating is a not only a very bad example in relationships but brings with it a cloud of doubt that hovers over you in other areas of your life.
If you cheated in one area, would you cheat in another?
#5: You will lose your moral authority. It’s hard to tell your children (or others) to do the right thing when they know you didn’t. Saying “Do as I say, not as I do” is the fastest way to lose the respect of others.
#6: You will create trust issues for your spouse. Forever. You will single-handedly damage the precious self-esteem of the one you promised to love.
For children, their parents relationship is their anchor and cheating cuts the line.
#7: You will (might) lose your standard of living. Depending on what you do for a living, you may lose your job. Many lose their home. Most end up with enormous court fees since cheating is usually the precursor to divorce.

FINALLY. DECISION DAY. POLLS OPEN IN HISTORIC SCOTLAND VOTE

Both excitement and anxiety are mounting as Scotland starts voting in knife-edge referendum to determine whether to break away from the United Kingdom and become independent.
As polls open in Scotland, most opinion polls and experts say it is a vote too tight to predict. The voting is going to continue until 10.00 p.m local time

The gravity of the imminent decision was hitting home for many voters as political leaders made passionate, final pleas for their sides.

More than 4.2 million people are registered to vote in the country of 5.3 million people. including, for the first time, 16 and 17-year-olds - with neither side assured of a victory.
The latest polls released by Ipsos MORI, on Wednesday, put opposition to independence at 51 percent and support at 49 percent, with five percent of voters undecided. The company had conducted a telephonic poll of 1,373 people.

A lecturer at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria was apprehended Sunday night at a private female hostel in Samaru, Zaria.

Daily Trust gathered yesterday that the lecturer disguised by wearing Hijab (veil) and attempted to sneak into the hostel before he was intercepted.

A witness, Khalifa Sha’aibu, alleged that, that was not the first time the lecturer was entering the hostel to visit his girl friend.
Sha’aibu added: “The most annoying thing is the fact that the man used Hijab. As a Muslim, I feel sad that somebody would use something that women of faith are known with to perpetrate crime. Seized aircraft in South Africa: CAN reacts,

The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, released a statement yesterday reacting to reports about the seized private jet in South Africa that implicated its National President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor. CAN called out El Rufai and APC national spokesperson, Lai Mohammed for attacking Oritsejafor and Sahara Reporters for reporting in their own words 'falsehood'. Find the statement below
Our attention has been drawn to the desperation of some elements working for a particular political party within our society to tarnish the image of the President of Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor. They are working for the All Progressives Congress and they are not unknown to us.
Let Nigerians have this background for them to judge themselves. These shameless characters including a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nasir El-Rufai and National Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress, Lai Mohammed, went to UK to embark on an image laundering for their political party, the APC. El-Rufai had once said there are three sets of Boko Haram in Nigeria: Islamic Boko Haram, Politicians’ Boko Haram and Christians’ Boko Haram which he said are being funded by President Goodluck Jonathan and coordinated by CAN President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor.
He went further to claim that the CAN President has been given N50 billion by the President and a Jet. The same characters, went head to sponsor a negative report in Saharareporters. I had expected that by now no sane mind will take any report by Saharareporters serious because it is an online news medium which thrives on falsehood and survives on false propaganda and blackmail. The aircraft in question is owned by Eagle Air Company and the CAN President is an interested party in the company.
